Leaving Work Behind

I Want to Feature Your Story on Leaving Work Behind

Written by Tom Ewer on March 3, 2014. 57 Comments

Story quoteUpdate: I am no longerย paying for guest posts (I was getting far too many submissions from people whose only interested seemed to be in getting paid). But ifย you are passionate about a topic and still want to share your thoughts and/or story with us, read on!

Leaving Work Behind has come a long way in the past 2 1/2 years. What started out as a simple accountability journal for my own efforts in quitting my job and establishing a successful online business has slowly evolved into a community of likeminded people with a common aim.

That evolution will continue. My long term plan is for Leaving Work Behind to be an all-inclusive community — a resource for the people, by the people, if you will. With that in mind, I want your inspiring stories and case studies to become part of the Leaving Work Behind movement.

And that’s why, today, I am lifting my guest posting embargo and inviting you to share your story with the LWB community!

LWB Wantsย You

Here’s what I can offer you: exposure for your blog, the feedback of the LWB community, and $50 for an approved post. In return for that, you offer the community something of value in the form of a blog post.

You could share your story — trials and tribulations — and the lessons learned. Or perhaps you have launched a successful business and want to share your process. The key is that it must be inspiring and/or actionable in some way. It should help people to get closer to leaving work behind.

Here’s what Iย don’t want: people writing cookie cutter posts just so they can get a link back to their site or businesses writing thinly veiled promotional articles. You get the idea.

I don’t care if you’re just getting started in your journey or if you’re earning six figures — if you have something valuable to share, I would love for you to share it with us!

The Rules

Everything you should need to know is covered over on my guest post submissions page. Head over there if you’re interested in writing for Leaving Work Behind!

If you have any other questions, please submit them in the comments section below and I’ll update this post accordingly. Good luck!

How exciting – this is a great opportunity! I’m just starting out with my business/blog, so this may be a bit premature for me at the moment. But I’d love to circle back in a month or so. Do you have any deadlines in mind for submission? Thanks!

Tom, love it! I have a pretty cool story….fired security guard goes from having 4 cents to traveling the world for 3 years running……super actionable tips too, as is my writing style….one question though; you just want a synopsis, right? No full post?

Thanks for answering and the opportunity! Time to catch some rays here in Thailand ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Hi Tom,
A great offer to bloggers I must say. I am sure there are many people that are going to take up this challenge.

One aspect of this notification I like is the fact that you would be accepting posts from beginners and professionals who can deliver inspiring and actionable post. Good luck to you!

I have shared this comment in kingged.com, where I found this content shared, syndicated, and bookmarked for Internet marketers.

I’m 70 year old retiree with younger wife and two school-age children. I want/need to work but even with my professional background, only find minimum wage manual labor. Can’t be on my feet all day! I love to write and enjoy the internet. Hope to hear of some good, honest opportunities. Thanks for this site!!!!

I must admit that the initial reason I came to this site was to “look for work”. After having read your post, I’m enthused to have the opportunity to contribute to the group.

There are so many people who have invested a lot of money into one plan or another. (Notice I don’t call them schemes because their plan was not to “take the money and run”, but to really help the consumer.)

For whatever reason, many of them did not show the results they were looking for. I’m encouraged that this site will prove to be one of the sites that really provide the interaction writers are looking for.

I’m not clear on your guest post policy. Do you still pay for articles?

The update says you’re no longer paying for guest posts.

The body of the article says you’re still offering $50 for an approved post.
Hereโ€™s what I can offer you: exposure for your blog, the feedback of the LWB community, and $50 for an approved post.
