Blogging presents us with awesome opportunities.
For many, it represents the potential for freedom. There are countless stories of people who have used blogging to free themselves from the shackles of traditional employment.
I happen to be one such person – I was first able to quit my job through freelance blogging, and I now run a successful blog article writing business and generate ‘passive’ income through Leaving Work Behind and its associated products.
However, these opportunities are not open to everyone. There are many out there who have the passion and motivation to create a blog, but simply don’t know how. They feel that they lack the technical chops to set a blog up and get it working in the way they would like.
And while there are endless resources relating to the creative side of blogging (my clear favorite being How to Start a Blog That Matters over at Fizzle), I see far less comprehensive technical help available for complete beginners.
To clarify that point, while there are plenty of technical blogging tutorials spread across the web, I’ve never found a free blogging course that does a great job in showing a complete blogging newbie how to get their blog set up in the way they would like – covering everything from design to functionality and beyond.
So I decided to create that course myself.
It’s been nearly two years in the making, and I think you’re going to love it. Read on to discover how I’m giving you the opportunity to gain exclusive early access to the course along with personal coaching – completely free of charge.
Introducing Beginner Blogging
Beginner Blogging will be a completely free yet comprehensive online course for people who want to start a blog but are not sure how.
Through the duration of the course, it is assumed that your technical computing experience is limited to simple tasks such as web browsing, email and word processing – nothing more.
Like I said, there are loads of courses out there relating to the creative side of blogging, so Beginner Blogging focuses entirely on the technical aspects of how to create a blog that you will love.
I’ve used the benefit of my years of blogging (and my specific experience with the WordPress blogging platform) to create this course from the ground up myself. It is exhaustive yet extremely easy to follow, with simple step-by-step instructions and screenshots galore.
Best of all, this course will be tried and tested by people just like you, so you know that there is no stone left unturned in terms of teaching you what you need to know in a way that will make perfect sense
Beginner Blogging is broken up into seven sections:
- Creating Your WordPress Blog
- Getting to Know WordPress
- Setting Up Your WordPress Blog
- Choosing and Installing a WordPress Theme
- Installing and Configuring WordPress Plugins
- Creating Menus and Widgets for Your WordPress Blog
- Creating Posts and Pages for Your WordPress Blog
The course also includes vital complementary resources, such as handpicked lists of free themes and plugins that you can use to take your blog to the next level. Much more is planned for the future too.
In short, Beginner Blogging will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that you have everything you need to create a beautiful and highly functional blog.
Your Opportunity for Exclusive Early Access and Free Personal Coaching
I mentioned above that the course will be tried and tested by people just like you. With that in mind, I’m calling on you now to gain exclusive early access to Beginner Blogging.
Here’s what you can expect:
- A chance to participate in the course before anyone else
- An opportunity to provide your feedback on the course
- An opportunity to ask any questions you like and get personal feedback from me
- Exclusive personal coaching on all technical aspects of blogging from me
- Participation in a post-course Google+ hangout in which you can ask me anything
To get your chance of gaining early access, just enter your email address below and hit Sign Me Up!
Once you’ve signed up, you will be sent a survey. The “winners” (a group of five) will be selected from the results of that survey.
Please note that this course is primarily aimed at those who haven’t even started creating a blog yet, and the winners will be picked accordingly. However, the doors will be opened again – before the course is publicly launched – to people who are signed up via the above form.
So if you have already started a blog but feel that you could benefit from any aspect(s) of the course, be sure to enter your email address above and hit Sign Me Up!
I will be picking the five winners on Monday 7th July, so you have until then to sign up and complete the survey.
I look forward to helping you create a blog that could change your life!

Hey Tom,
Although the “learn how to set up a blog” theme has been so overdone it’s ridiculous, I know firsthand that what you are offering is actually valuable.
I’ve seen your work, been part of your programs, and know that you genuinely care about the success of others.
I’m sure many will find this a valuable resource.

Thank you Steve, I appreciate your support!

Hi Tom
Can’t wait for this course. You have walked the road this road: quitting a job and starting a blog. I have left my job also, stumbled a bit, and have just picked a client.
I have a free blog on wordpress but abandoned it, I have read about how unprofessional it is… anyway, hopefully I win and get to start early with your ‘beta testing group’
thanks
Tom Ewer says
My pleasure Shingirai, I hope I can help you!

Hi Tom,
Its nice seeing you have created a very helpful course for those who plan to learn blogging. The seven sections of the course are basic steps for starting a blog from the scratch.
I am pretty sure that many newbies would be interested in the coaching. Good luck in advance for the success of this program!
I have shared this comment in kingged.com where this post was found and “kingged” for its value to Internet marketers.

This should be one kick ass course, Tom! I’ll be sure to direct all newbie bloggers to this course.
Also, I think you meant to say you’ll be picking the winners on 7th July (not June).

I must agree with you that blogging presents us plenty of awesome opportunities.
Blogging is beneficial, profitable and indeed gives a career-changing effect. Blogging is defined differently, depending on how people will look at it.
Well, I must agree with you that there are some people who have the passion and motivation to start blogging, but they do not know how.
Glad that you’ve freely shared us your knowledge and offered us a helpful blogging course that will teach us the entire things to consider and steps to follow in order to get started in blogging.
